Gainsborough constituency is a diverse, mostly rural area. We have some of the most deprived wards in the country – Gainsborough South West and Gainsborough East – and also some of the least deprived, in Nettleham and Welton. Stretching from the inland port of Gainsborough on the river Trent in the west to the Lincolnshire Wolds in the east and the dormitory villages around Lincoln in the south, the constituency comprises the whole of the West Lindsey District Council area, plus one ward – Wragby – from East Lindsey.
